What to check for when doing BOW?

1. Sterility
2. Tightness
3. Pulse, sensation and motion

What to note for Sterility?

1. Open CFD close to wound

2. Ensure sterile padding (White part) completely covered

Question 3

What to note for Tightness?

Answer 3

1. Tight so won’t unravel on its own

2. Leave thumb exposed to check for capillary refill (<2s)

What to note for Pulse,Sensation and Motion?

1. Check radial/carotid
2. Can casualty feel the part?
3. Wiggle

What to note for all head BOW (minus eye)

Answer 5

1. Ensure go in front and behind ear (Secure)
2. Ensure pull bandage through pressure clip and reverse direction (Pressure)
3. Ensure go 1 round around forehead (Secure)

What to note for eye BOW?

Answer 6

One round around uninjured eye (Reduce movement of eyes)
