Grooves: spiral cuts
Lands: raised parts that are inside the barrel that are the metal between the grooves
Purpose: to give the bullet a spin as it travels to allow it to be stable and straight
What are the two ways a person can test for GSR, and what can the detectives learn from it
- Sodium Rhodizonate: Pink color that will occur after spraying the sample with sodium Rhodiozate and the di water to detect lead
- Griess test- used to detect nitrates on clothing and distance of muzzle from garments
