Eye-level shots, highlighting that the two characters in the shot may know something. From the bottom-up, this shot suggests that the character in front is stronger and more superior to the character at the back. Time-lapse shot it’s used to indicate the passage/flow of time. Close-up shot, used to show the character’s facial expressions, as well as their emotions and reactions. The wide-angle shot, is used to show that there is more information than the emotions expressed. The overhead shot. High angle shot showing that the person being looked down upon is weak.
Why is the typewriter machine significant?
Because this machine began Jacques journey into writing and publishing his books.
Explain the symbolism of Imprisonment for both Jan-paul and Jacque,
Jacque was imprisoned mentally and physically, first while he was in Denenberg for the murder of his father which he later found out to be jan-paul who was responsible. His mother was not there for him mentally/emotionally, after Gavin/gert raped him in denenburg. As for Jan-Paul his imprisonment is mental because he betrayed Jacques friendship and fell in love with lena but did not tell him, yet he still dies imprisoned in his mind for betraying jacque as a friend.
Why is betrayal important in this film?
Betrayal is significant because this theme revolves around the whole film for example jan-paul and his relationship with lena that he did not tell Jacque about.
Why is the theme of Love significant?
The necklace that Jacque first gave to lena to represent their love is used as a representative to end the cycle of love between them when lena gives it back to him to end the relationship.
