Culture- can use for further sensitivity testing for treatment
i) Sterile sites (blood/CSF)- shouldnt have bacteria ii) Non sterile sites- have commensal bacteria that grow there

what is the difference between gram positive and gram negative bacteria

gram positive- thick peptidoglycan later in cell wall
gram negative- thin peptidoglycan layer AND lipopolysaccharide layer
