Background story Flashcards
In my recent role at the FRB
In my recent role at the FRB, I was deeply involved in a couple major initiatives.
As a Data Governance Analyst, I led the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide Master Data Management (MDM) platform using Informatica. This initiative was crucial as it synchronized data across all business units, enhancing the accuracy and accessibility of data. I utilized the Collibra Tool to establish organizational best practices for data management, which included comprehensive standards for data entry, lifecycle management, and security. These were tailored specifically for the Supervision and Regulation division of the FRB, working closely with the Board IT National Information Center warehouse. This role also involved initiating a data governance campaign that led to the establishment of a Data Stewardship program. This program significantly boosted data compliance and fostered inter-departmental collaboration, helping the organization streamline data usage and decision-making processes.
In my subsequent role as an IAM Implementation Business Analyst, I collaborated with a diverse team of professionals, including Product Owners and Developers, to enhance identity and access management systems using Okta and SailPoint technologies. This role involved conducting thorough analyses of business workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement, which I communicated effectively to stakeholders. A key project was the design and implementation of Role-Based Access Control and Single Sign-On systems, which unified access across three sister websites and onboarded over 80 legacy applications into the cloud. This not only improved security but also user experience across the board.
Furthermore, I led efforts to integrate SailPoint for Identity and Access Management, creating and managing user stories and requirements that ensured all applications complied with our organizational goals and regulatory standards. This involved intricate coordination with QA and Development teams to tailor configurations and functionalities, optimizing both security and efficiency.
Prior to FRB I worked as a contractor for the GSA
Prior to FRB I worked as a contractor for the GOVERNMENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATION to help streamline their Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) Data Governance. My primary responsibility was administering the Collibra platform, which was central to supporting our data governance framework. I conducted thorough data and gap analyses across several organizational systems, including MTO and Insomnia, which allowed us to identify critical areas for improvement in data handling and integrity.
One of my key projects was managing and maintaining reference tab les for the Multimodal Transport Operations (MTO) systems. This task was crucial as it facilitated the seamless integration of data into the Electronic Transportation system from Collibra. I coordinated IT change requests for dataset modifications across multiple environments—from development and testing to staging and production—ensuring that all changes were accurately implemented and validated.
Additionally, I was actively involved in updating our standard operating procedures and process flow documents, which was vital for maintaining operational consistency and compliance. I participated in the Data Stewardship Tactical Working Group (DSTWG), where we tackled various data challenges and strategized on effective solutions. My contributions helped establish the MTO Standards Lineage and relationship matrices, significantly reducing duplicative referential data elements and streamlining data processes within the organization.
My role extended beyond typical data governance; I led a major initiative to develop and implement organization-wide data management best practices. These included standards for data entry, lifecycle management, and security. Furthermore, I spearheaded the creation of a Data Stewardship program that enhanced collaboration and compliance in data sharing across departments, marking a pivotal advancement in how we manage and govern data.
Before GSA, I worked at the State of Maryland Department of Housing Authority as a Business Process Analyst
Before GSA, I worked at the State of Maryland Department of Housing Authority as a Business Process Analyst, and my primary role was to oversee the enhancement of identity management processes. The scope of my responsibilities involved developing, maintaining, and executing standard operating procedures in accordance with CMS and HHS standards. One of my key achievements was the comprehensive redesign of our identity management systems, where I was heavily involved in researching, designing, and implementing significant changes to their existing applications.
I managed and monitored systems associated with our IAM solutions, including configuring and managing tools like OKTA and Saviynt. A significant part of my role was to provide direction and support for IAM ecosystem onboarding and to manage the Okta Policy framework. This helped in controlling user access effectively and troubleshooting various access control issues across critical applications like email, VPN, and SSO.
