B8 Photosynthesis Flashcards
Where does photosynthesis take place.
It takes place in the green parts of plants whenit is light
Process of photosynthesis
Energy is transferred from the environmentto the chloroplasts by light. This energey then is transferred to convert carbon dioxide from the air plus water from the soil into a simple sugar called glucose.
Leaf adaptations
A plant needs plenty of carbon dioxide, light and water for photosynthesis to be succesful.
What type of reacrion is photonsynethesis.
Endothermic.
Rate of photosynthesis
The rate of photosynthesis may be affected by light intesnity, temperature and the level of carbon dioxide.
How plants use glucose
They use glucose for respiration
Limiting photosynthesis
They interact and any one of them may limit photosynthesis
Why are limiting factors important
They arre important in the economics of enhancing the conditions in greenhouses to gain the maximum rate of photosynthesis.
