3
Q
What adaptation aborbs light?
A
Chlorophyll in chloroplasts absorb light
4
Q
How is the energy from the sun used?
A
It transferres to convert Carbon dioxide and water into glucose (sugar).
5
Q
Name 6 leaf adaptations
A
- Most leaves are broad; meaning big surface area for light to fall on.
- Most leaves are thinsk diffusion distances fir the gases are short
- They contain chlorophyll in the chloroplasts to absorb light
- They have veins. Brings plenty of water in xylem to leaf cells and remove products of photosynthesis in phloem
- They have air spaces to allow CO2 to get to cells and oxygen to leave by diffusion
- They have guard cells that open and close stomata to regulate gas exchange
