B787 #15 Warning Systems Flashcards

1
Q

What is the Thrust Asymmetry Speed (TAMS)?

A

TAMS varies with weight and CG but is always at least 10 kts above the minimum control speed during TAKEOFF and GO-AROUND. When airspeed decreases to TAMS, there is an AIRSPEED AIRSPEED aural sound and the Master WARNING light illuminates. AOM 15.20.14

Q

What will cause a Takeoff Configuration warning?

A

When either engine’s thrust is in the takeoff range and:

  • Cargo and or passenger DOORS are not secured and locked
  • Leading edge and/or trailing edge FLAPS are not in the takeoff position
  • PARKING BRAKE is set
  • RUDDER TRIM is not centred
  • SPEEDBRAKE lever is not down
  • STABILIZER not within the green band

Q

What conditions will cause a SPEEDBRAKE, SPEEDBRAKE warning alert during landing and a rejected takeoff advising SPEEDBRAKE has not deployed?

A
  • Airplane is on the ground
  • BOTH thrust levers not in the takeoff thrust position
  • Groundspeed exceeds 85 kts
  • SPEEDBRAKE lever position is less than 35 degrees
All the above have to occur together for 1 sec

Q

Approximately how long after the weather radar is turned on before Predictive windshear alerts are enabled?

A

12 secs. However, the weather radar begins scanning for windshear with WXR switch on or off, when the THRUST of either engine is in the TAKEOFF range and thrust reversers are not unlocked or deployed.

Q

In flight, with the WXR switched pushed or not pushed, when will the weather radar begin scanning for windshear?
