A

Each organism is given TWO names - the name of genus and species

What are the rules with the latin names of genus and species?

A
  • Genus always has a capital and Species is lower case e.g. Panthera leo (lion)
  • Should be written out in full and then it can be shortened e.g. P. leo
  • Needs to be in italics or underlined when written.
