B.4 Flashcards
- the three perpendicular bisectors of a triangle meet at a point
-the point of concurrency for the three perpendicular bisectors is the
circumcenter
circumscribed means
outside
inscribed means
inside
-the three angle bisectors of a triangle meet at a point
-a point of concurrency for three angle bisectors is called the
incenter
Circumcenter Therom
The circumenter is equildistant from the vertices of a triangle
Incenter Conjecture
The incenter of a triangle equidistant from the sides
- the three altitudes I’ma triangle meet at a point -
The point of concurrency for the three altitudes is the
Orthocenter
- the three medians of a triangle meet at a point
- the point of concurrency of the three medians is the
Centroid
What is the centroid conjecture ?
The centroid of a triangle divides each median into two points so hag the distance from the centroid to the vertex is twice the distance from the centroid to the midpoint of the opposite side
-the segment that connects the midpoint of two sides of the triangle is a midsegment
- a triangle has three sides , each with its own midpoint , so there are three midsegment I’m every triangle
A midsegment does NOT have all three lines connect at one place
Midsegment Theorem
A midsegment is parallel to the 3rd side and half of the 3rd side
