how are nerve cells adapted to their function
A
- A long (axon) so they can carry messages up and down the body.
- (dendrons) which branch further as dendrites at each end. These receive incoming impulses from other neurons.
- fatty (myelin) sheath acts as a electrical conductor to speed up the electrical impulse

brain and spinal cord

- automatic actions done in order to protect yourself from danger
- are very quick as the brain is not involved in thinking
