how are nerve cells adapted to their function

A
  • A long (axon) so they can carry messages up and down the body.
  • (dendrons) which branch further as dendrites at each end. These receive incoming impulses from other neurons.
  • fatty (myelin) sheath acts as a electrical conductor to speed up the electrical impulse
