Examples of tissues, organs and organ systems:

A

Tissues are a group of cells working together- muscular tissues to carry out certain functions: contract and relax

Organ: group of tissues working together to carry out a certain function.
E.G stomach: muscular tissue to churn the food, glandular tissue to produce digestive enzymes, epithelial tissue which covers outside of the stomach

Organ system: circulatory system, digestive system

What is the point of having a digestive system?

A

molecules in food are insoluble and they need to be broken down to form smaller insoluble molecules which the cells can digest
