Nervous system of the animal

Explain how ivermectin is a neurological toxin.
A
Binds to and activates GlucL (glutamate gated chloride channels)
Binding causes persistent opening of ion channels leading to paralysis in the animal
Hyperpolarisation making it difficult to evoke a membrane potential

What are the contraindications of ivermectin ?

Not to be given to:
- children under 5
- body weight <15kg
- breastfeeding
- hepatic or/ and renal disease
