The fusing of the male and female sex cells.

What happens on days 1, 5, and 14 of the menstrual cycle? How is it controlled?
A
Days 1-5: ‘period’ happens (menstruation), where the uterus lining breaks down.
Day 14: egg (ovum) released from the ovary and travels down the oviduct.
Controlled by the complex interactions in the woman’s reproductive organs.

A
Allows substances (such as oxygen) to pass between the mother and baby’s blood.
