What is meant by a balanced diet? (2 marks)
- A healthy diet that contains (any two from):
• the right amount of nutrients or different / all foods
• the right amount of energy
• for (individual) needs
What does the body use carbohydrates, fats and proteins for? (2 marks)

What does malnourished mean?
The diet is not balanced

What problems can it lead to?
- A type of fat found in the body.
- It can be produced by the liver
- It is used to make hormones and cell membranes.
- Too much can lead to blocked arteries.
What is diabetes?
A condition when the amount of glucose in the blood is too high.
What is meant by obese? (2 marks)
- Being very overweight,
- Having a BMI of over 30
What is meant by overweight? (2 marks)
- Carrying excess fat
- Having a BMI of between 25-30
