How can genetic testing be used on embryos?
- when embryos are produced using IVF doctors can test the embryo to see if is has any genetic disorders
- healthy embryos are implanted into the mothers womb
What is genetic testing used on children and adults?
Children and adults can be checked to see if they carry alleles for genetic disorders.
Children and adults can be tested before certain drugs are prescribed to them to see how it is likely to affect them.
What is a clone?
Clones are genetically identical organisms. They have the same genes and same alleles for this genes.
