Why were mountains considered sacred sites?
It was considered sacred sites because they were closer to god the higher you got, so the built pyramids with stairs so they can get higher.
Why did the Aztecs choose to make their home where they did?
They chose to make their home where they did because its what their god told them to do. Their god also told them to travel far south to a cactus that has a eagle earring a snake in the middle of a lake.

There were deserts, mountains, tropical forests, ranch land, and rich farmland. The largest rivers are the Rio Grande and Usmacinta.
What is one benefit of the mountains and what are two drawbacks of the mountains?
A benefit from the mountains was that it was a religious place for the Aztecs. it was a place where you can get closer to the gods The downfalls were that people had high ground against them because they were on the bottom and another one is that the mountains would block out clouds so rain wouldn’t get to the Aztecs.
How did the Aztecs use Lake Texcoco to protect them?
It protected them because people from the outside and the land could be destroyed so no one can come to their land.

The Aztecs altered their geography by making their land bigger and connecting it to the main land.
