Private Cloud
Organizations create a cloud environment in their datacenter
Organisation is responsible for operating the services they provide
Does not provide access to users outside the organisation
Public Cloud
Owned by cloud services or hosting provider
Provides resources and services to multiple organisations and users
Accessed via secure network connection (typically over the internet)
Hybrid cloud
Combines public and private clouds to allow applications to run in the most appropriate location
Capital Expenditure
The up front spending of money on physical infrastructure
Cost from capex have a value that reduces over time
Operational Expendaiture
Spend on products and services as needed, pay as you go
Get billed immediately
Locally redundant storage (LRS)
Single datacentre in the primary region - 11 nines
Zone-redundant storage (ZRS)
Three availability zones in the primary region - 12 nines
Geo-redundant zones (GRS)
Single datacentre in the primary and secondary region - 16 nines
Geo-zone-redundant storage
Three availability zones in the primary region and a single datacentre in the secondary region - 16 nines
