What are the boundaries of the axillary region?
Anterior boundary: Pec major and minor
Medial boundary: Serratus anterior
Lateral boundary: Interventricular suculus (groove) of humerus
Posterior boundary: Scapula and musculature (Subscapularis, Latissimus, and Teres minor)
Apex: clavicle
Base: Axillary fascia
What is the origin of the axillary sheath?
Fascia from the scalenus antrior and scalenus medius
It is continuous with parts of the clavipectoral fascia
What are the contents of the axillary sheath?
Axillary artery
Axillary vein
Brachial plexus
What are the 3 parts of the axillary artery?
First part: Superior Thoracic Artery
Second part: Thoracoacromial trunk and Lateral Thoracic Artery
Third part: Subscapular trunk, Anterior circumflex humeral artery, and posterior circumflex humeral artery
