What are each of the following: Regions, Availability Zones, Edge Locations, Wavelength Zones, Local Zones and Regional Edge Caches?
Regions are areas with a cluster of data centres connected by high bandwidth ultralow latency networking used for infrastructure deployment, AZs areas within each region each AZ stores contains a data centre or data centres that store data independent to other AZ (these are typically a subdivision of regions with the exact location not specified by AWS the user that exist for horizontal scalability as apposed to edge computing), ELs are more precise locations than regions for edge computing of web content, Wavelength Zones are data centres at the edge of 5G networks for mobile access, LZs are more location specific data centres within a region for edge computing and Regional Edge Caches are caches deployed at regions for web content
What AWS services can be used for Edge Networking?
CloudFront, Route 53 and Global Accelerator
How can someone build a serverless API in AWS?
Use API Gateway
What is Transit Gateway?
A service that offers the ability to connect many VPCs and on premises using the hub and spoke connection it is a private connection
What is a subnet?
A portion of a VPC
How might a AWS user connect to the internet when using a private network?
NAT Gateway
How might a AWS user connect to the internet when using a global network?
IGW (Internet Gateway)
What is Private Link?
Links a AWS service to a VPC using a 3rd party network
What is VPC Endpoints and VPC Peering?
Endpoints privately connects a AWS service to a VPC and Peering Connects 2 VPCs
How might a AWS user avoid using a network to connect AWS with on premise?
Direct Connect (DX)
What is CloudFront?
CDN - Content Delivery Network = Caches web searches at a edge location
What service is a DNS that offers a verity of routing policies?
Route 53
What is Global Accelerator?
A service that speeds up online searches by leveraging AWS internal network
