Awo Flashcards
Low visibility operations are defined as?
Takeoff with RVR less than 400m
Landing with RVR less than 550m
RVR deterioration procedures?
Above 1000ft AAL
- continue to 1000ft
- if the RVR remains below LVO minima at 1000ft AAL missed approach shall be flown.
Below 1000ft AAL
- approach may be continued to the DH
- if required visual reference is established land
- if the required visual reference is not established a missed approach shall be flown
When is auto throttle/ auto thrust mandatory for a LVO approach?
When conducting a CAT 3B
AWO equipment deterioration procedures?
Above 1000ft AAL
- if an aircraft or airport system failure necessitates a reversion to a degraded approach category the approach shall not descend below 1000ft AAL unless the reported RVR readings are at or above the minima for the degraded approach category.
Below 1000ft AAL
- a missed approach shall be flown if an aircraft or airport systems failure necessaries a reversion to a degraded approach category unless the reported RVR readings are at or above the minima for the degraded approach category or adequate visual reference is established.
Below 1000ft AAL reversion minima may be used but the decision height on the PFD must not be changed.
An instrument approach must not be conducting in what viability unless RVR information is provided for runway of intended use?
For visibility less than 800M
Precision approach lighting system layout?
PALS provide additional visual guidance from 300M before the landing runway threshold to 900M from the runway stop point.
Runway centre line lights RCLL layout?
White in colour from the threshold to a point 900M from the runway stop end.
When do runway centre line lights change colour from white?
900M-300M from the runway end they alternate red/white.
300M from the end of the runway stop end they change to red
Colour of runway exit lights?
Alternate green and yellow lights which lead to taxiway centre line lights.
Taxiway centreline lights colours?
Change to green when the aircraft is clear of ILS sensitive areas.
Procedure for downgraded ground equipment?
Navtech supplement detail requirements. However airport authorities are responsible for full compliance prior to providing approach clearance.
There is no requirement for flight crew to consult the navtech supplement during an approach.
What is required on both PFDs for a CAT 3B approach?
LAND 3 on both PFDs
What is required on both PFDs for a CAT 3A approach?
LAND 2 on both PFDs
What is required on both PFDs for a CAT 2 approach?
LAND 2 on both PFDs
What category approach can be flown with NO AUTOLAND displayed?
CAT 1 approach may be flown
