AWH Interview Flashcards
What are your weaknesses as a nurse?
When providing care for patients, I think that I am too kind at times and try to facilitate their every need. Sometimes I feel that I may not be assertive enough, which some people could view as being vulnerable. Additionally, I feel as if I am too critical of myself at times.
What are your strengths as a nurse?
I am very determined and strive for excellence within the care of my patients. I display patience during my interactions with patients and ensure that I remain honest with myself and others in my nursing practice. I am not afraid to ask for help when needed which I think is of great importance in a graduate program position at Albury Wodonga Health.
What do you admire within other people?
I admire others ability to perform a task with confidence and without self-doubt. As I am still learning everyday, I sometimes lack self confidence in nursing cares. Despite this, I ensure I will not perform a task I am not comfortable with and ensure that I ask questions when needed.
What is your experience in this area?
I have had 6 months experience in both women’s surgical unit and special care nursery. This consisted of 3 months in each area. I am currently working within the paediatric ward at Albury Base Hospital where I have learnt some skills which I believe would be beneficial if and when I were to work within the special care nursery.
