“Colour and Lighting” Creates a mood. Darker scenes are in place to portray a dull or sullen situation whilst lighter scenes are portrayed to be more joyful. All Scenes.

“Wide Shot” In the office. Reveals the frustration but determination the man feels as he is given a stack of papers to sort in which he uses to attempt to signal the woman he sees at another skyscraper.

“Non-Diegetic Sound” Sets an aura above the man as sorrowful music portrays his broken emotions and implies obstruction to the situation which then transitions to joyful music which portrays his lifted spirits as he is reconnected with the lady that he once saw.

“Two Shot Frame” Implies to the viewer that the two have reunited and that the film has ended where they started, at the train station.
Paper Man Quote 5 (C/S)
“Colour” and “Symbolism” within the short film allow for it to be seen as timeless through the use of only black and white picture quality thus allowing the audience to believe that love is also timeless and hence the clichè reconnection supports the link when there cloth’s appear to have colour at the same time as they reunite.
