What is the mode?
The number that appears the most often
What is the median?
The middle number when put in order
How do you find the mean?
Add the numbers and divide by how many you have.
What is the range?
It’s a measure of spread.
The largest number subtract the smallest number.
Find the mode:
5, 6, 2, 3, 5, 2, 3, 5
5
Find the median:
4, 8, 9, 20, 22, 8, 22, 10, 6, 3
8.5
Don’t forget to put them in order.
Find the mean:
5, 2, 8, 5, 10
30/5 = 6
Give an example of continuous data.
It’s numerical data that can be measured.
E.g. Height, weight, length, time
Give an example of discrete data.
It’s numerical data that can only take certain values, or counted data.
E.g. Shoe size, scores on a maths test, the number of goals scored in a football game.
Give an example of qualitative data
E.g.
Colours of cars.
Favourite icecream.
