Causes of avalanches
Weak snow, people walking on snow, rain or snow melt, temperature change, steepness of slope, unstable conditions
Effects of avalanches
Damage to anything in its oath, as it gets nearer to the bottom it gains speed snd power, can go up to 80 miles an hour in 5 seconds
Ways to protect against avalanches
Bombing the avalanches,
building regulations: rules on how the building should be built
Shipping forecast: weather forecast in particular areas in the sea or ocean used by ship captains
Snow fences snd sheds: cover roads and protect from avalanches
Afforestation: replanting of trees
Advantages of snow fences
Placed on roads and mountains to protect the avalanche from going down the mountain further so it reduces the amount of snow falling downslope.
Prevents from anything else that could get damaged in its way.
