Autosomal linkage Flashcards
1
Q
What does autosomal linkage means?
A
- Autosomal linkage occurs if two or more genes are located on the same autosome (non-sex chromosome)
2
Q
What are the difference of sex-linkage and autosomal linkage
A
In sex-linkage the linked genes are on the same sex chromosomes (usually X) whereas in autsomal linkahge they are on chromosomes other than sex chromosomes
3
Q
What are autosomes?
A
The remaining 22 chromosomes otheer than sex chromosomes are autosomes
4
Q
What do we assume?
A
Crossing over
All inked genes remain together during meosis and do not pass into gametes
If A and B occur in same chromosomes -= they are linked
