What causes wheezing sound?
caused by narrowing of the airways
With which pathologies is wheezing associated?
Asthma, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, COPD, Smoking, HF, inhaling a foreign object into the lungs, allergic reaction
Does wheezing occur during inhalation or exhalation?
may occur during both
What does a Rhonchi sound resemble?
snoring or moaning sound
What causes a Rhonchi sound?
occur in the bronchi as air moves through tracheal-bronchial passages coated with mucous or respiratory secretions
In which pathologies are the Rhonchi heard?
often heard in pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, or cystic fibrosis
usually clear after coughing
What causes a stridor sound?
air is moving roughly over a partially-obstructed upper airway
-> caused by sth blocking the larynx (person choking on an object, person with an infection, swelling in the throat, laryngospasm)
What kind of sound is mitral regurgitation?

What should be suspected if S3 is heard in patients above 40?
Heart failure
What does the color red in advanced Triage system chart mean?
0) Immediate
1) cannot survive w/o immediate attention
2) critical life-threatening injury/ illness
3) chance of survival
What does the color yellow in advanced Triage system chart mean?
0) Observation
1) need immediate treatment
2) more likely to live than red
3) currently stable & not immediate danger of death
