Definition of attitude
An emotional response that influences behaviour and being about an individuals typical actions towards an attitude
Factors affecting attitude
The media, cultural factors, education, role models, religion, peers, norms of a social group
1st Component of attitude
Cognitive-The belief or knowledge a person has about the attitude object e.g running helps improve my cardio-vascular system.
2nd component of attitude
Affective component-the emotional aspect of attitude( if the attitude object gives you a good feeling).
3rd component of attitude
Behavioural- the response or behaviour toward the attitude object e.g. I believe running has fitness benefits and the activity is enjoyable, so I will run.

Triadic model
1st step of persuasive communication
The persuader- person has to have high status e.g. coach of the team
2nd step of persuasive communication
The recipient- the attitude should easily be changed if the recipient wants to change
3rd step of persuasive communication.
The message-this needs to be said in a way that makes them want to change
4th step of persuasive communication
The situation-attitudes are changed more easily if other persuaders are present
Methods of attitude change
Changing one component of the triadic model can change the whole attitude
