s.1 Criminal Attempts Act 1981- “where D does an act which is more than preparatory, with the intention to commit the full crime.”

What is stage one (AR) of attempts (+ cases)?

A

Stage one- an act which is more than merely preparatory , more than preparatory to the full offence (Jones)

Geddes- 2 questions to ask: Had the D moved from planning to execution? Had the accused done an act showing he was trying to commit the full offence?
