Ainsworth moved to Uganda and observed 28 mothers and their children

Waters, & Wall, 1978)/ way of assessing attachment security
The Strange Situation
Takes place in an observation laboratory / Two chairs and a play area/ Involves a standardised set of episodes with child, mother and a stranger
Attachment styles
type A: insecure avoidant
Type B: secure
type C: insecure resistant
type D: disorganised attachment
