Strange Situation . . 4 Types of attachment
A
Type A - avoidant infants: during separation from caregiver there is little sign of distress; the infant does not interact or come close to the caregiver at reunion
Type B - secure infants: infants sometimes show distress at separation; infants actively seek interaction and proximity with caregiver especially at reunion
Type C - ambivalent infants: at reunion show both contact-seeing and resisting behaviours
Type D - Disorganised: no clear pattern shown across the episodes and bizarre responses to separation and reunion may be shown
