Compound
A substance made of two or more elements chemically combined in a specific ratio, or proportion.
Elements
A pure substance that cannot be broken down into other substances by chemical or physical means.
Organic
Most Compounds that contains carbon are organic
Inorganic
Compounds that don’t contain carbon such as water.
Carbohydrates
An energy-rich organic compound, such as a sugar or a starch, that is made of the elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.
Lipids
An energy-rich organic compound, such as a fat, oil, or wax, that is made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.
Proteins
Large organic molecules made of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen,nitrogen and sometime sulfur
Enzymes
A group of proteins that speed up chemical reactions in living things
Nucleic Acid
Long organic molecules that consist of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and phosphorus
DNA
A genetic material that carries info about an organism and is passed from parent to offspring.
