Q

describe equipment used in crystallisation

A

The student would need a tripod with a gauze. On top the student would need an evaporating basin. The basin would be heated by a bunsen burner.

6
Q

describe the process of crystallisation

A

1) Filter the solution to remove any insoluble solids.
2) Heat the solution to boil off about half of the liquid.
3) Leave the remaining solution to cool and evaporate over time.
4) When the crystals have formed, pat them with tissue or paper
towel to dry them.
