Q

DEFINE TROPOSPHERE

A

it is the lowest and the densest part of the atmosphere. it is very important for all of us. all the changes in the weather occur here. clouds, storms, rain, snow, etc. are formed in this layer. temperature decreases with height over here. it is the only part of the atmosphere which supports life

Q

DEFINE STRATOSPHERE

A

this is the second layer of the atmosphere. this layer is free from clouds and other weather changes, so it provides ideal conditions for large jet planes to fly. stratosphere also has an ozone layer which absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

Q

THERMOSPHERE

A

this layer lies above the mesosphere. thermosphere is also called lonosphere where ellectrically charged particles called ions are found. these particles reflect radio waves back to the earth for wireless communication. thermosphere also protects us from meteors and obsolete satellites as they burn when the enter the earths atmosphere. this happens because of the very high temprature in the thermosphere

Q

EXOSPHERE

A

it is the last layer of the atmosphere. there is no distinct upper limit to this layer and it gives way to the inter-planetary space. this layer contains very small traces of gases like oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and helium because the lack of gravity allows the gas molecules to easily escape into space
