A

Exenatide is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. The statements made by patient that would indicate understanding using exenatide:

Monitor blood sugar levels before and after meals, and at bedtime to avoid hypoglycemia.
Inject exenatide as soon as it is prepared, and never inject exenatide insulin in the same place as other insulin at the same time.
Take exenatide injector one hour before antibiotics or birth control pill.
If a dose of exenatide is missed do not double up on the doses or take it right after, instead go back to the regular dosing schedule of this drug.
Store the exenatide auto injector pen with med after opening in the refrigerator, and dispose of the injector pen with or without med in 30 days.

Niroglycerine transdermal patch pt. teaching

Place the patch on a hairless area of skin, and roate site when applying new patch.
Pt. should be medication free between 10-12 hours daily.
The pt. should wash their hands before and after applying the nitro patch.
Remove old patch, wash skin with soap and water. Dry thoroughly before applying another one.
Remove the patch at nigh to reduce the risk of developing tolerance to nitroglycerin.
