ATA 23 - Communication Systems Flashcards
How many frequencies can you have stored in the VHF control unit?
6 ea
What do the pilots do if the REU (DREU) fails?
Switch the NORM/EMER toggle switch to EMER.
For how long can the PTT X-mit?
For a maximum period of 2 minutes. Thereafter is disables automatically.
What is the frequency spacing in the VHF Control Unit & Transceiver?
8.33 KHz
What are the HF frequency range?
2-29.9999 MHz
When shouldn’t the HF transmit?
During fuelling or when personnel is close to the A/C.
At which temperature do the the VHF transceiver automatically shut down? How to override this condition?
At 160°. This can be overriden by pushing PTT twice rapidly. This should only be done if needed during an emergency situation.
What happens with the PA system when oil pressure signal is sensed?
A boost of 6 dB from the cockpit loudspeakers and the PSU speakers.
From where is the REU power supplied during the engine start sequence?
Both sides of the REU is then powered from the EMERGENCY BUS
What is the frequency range within the control sub mode (ANC)?
80-93.3 hZ
When will the inertia switch open and stop the operation of the CVR?
When an acceleration greater than 3G occurs.
When is it possible to erase all data in the solid state flash memory?
(CVR)
When aircraft is Weight on Wheels and the gust lock switch is engaged.
Where is the ANC Test panel installed?
Between the Attendants Panel and the hand cradle.
When will the ANC be active?
In flight (WOW and when both the tachometer signals are within the range 80Hz to
93.3Hz
Which three components are included in the HF system?
- Transceiver
- Power Amplifier
- Antenna Coupler
