A

Usually takes up to 5-10 minutes

  1. orientation; ask about the time, place, and date
  2. Registration: Ask the client to remember 3 random objects and ask to repeat these items as many as 6 times
  3. attention and calculation: you ask the client to count backward by 7 starts from 100. You ask the client to spell the word “WORLD”
  4. Recall; ask the client to say the 3 random objects you ask her to remember
  5. Language: present a wristwatch and pencil and ask the client to identify these items
  6. Complex 3-stage command: provide a piece of paper, ask the client to receive the paper with her right hand, ask to fold the paper half, and place the paper on the floor
  7. Reading: provide a command in the paper “close your eyes”, ask the client to read and perform the command
  8. Writing: ask the client to write a sentence of his/her own choosing
  9. Copying: on clear paper, draw intersecting pentagons and ask the client to copy the figures exactly,
