A unit that discribes a large distance.

Average distance between the earth and the sun
Constellation
A group of stars that form a recongnizable pattern.

Distance light travels in one year.
Nuclear Fusion
When atoms with the same charge join together and form nucles.
Terrestrial Planets
A comparison of the four planets closest to the sun.
Gas Giant

planets such as Neptune, Saturn ans Uranus because they are big balls of gas.

a dusty ice ball that orbits the sun.
Asteroid
a small rocky body that orbits the sun.

a person who studies evolution and space-time relations to the universe.
Nebula
a “fuzzy” patch in the sky. Either light or dark, a cloud of interstellar gas and dust.
Sidereal Day
a whole earth day. 24 hours { the time it takes for the sun to come up then down and back again}
Solar Day
The time it take for the sun to reach it’s highest point.
Year
The time it takes Earth to make a complete rotation on it’s axis.
Protoplanetry
A rotating disk of dust and gas that surrounds the core of a developing solar system.
