What happens in the pathophysiology of bronchiolitis?

A

Necrosis of ciliated cells and proliferation of non-ciliated cells

→ Bronchiolar obstruction, Atelectasis (collapsed lung), Hyperinflation

→ hypoxia, hypercapnea, VQ mismatch
