What are the different test used?
Lung function test spirometry
FEV1/FVC <0.70 diagnosis of COPD
Peak Expiratory Flow daily monitor do a total of 3 times and choose highest reading.
Personal best measure 2x daily for 2-3 weeks between noon to 2pm when asthma under control
3 zones green yellow red <50% red zone
What are the long term controllers ?
ICS
Mast cell stabalizers
anti leukotriences -singlulair
Methylxanthines -theophyline
LABA
Anti IgE -omalizumab
Anti -Il5
What are rescue meds?
ICS + formoterol
In ED- SABA via nebulizer
systemic steroids (PO/IV only not inhaled)
Oxygen
If severe add nebulized ipratropium

Ipratropium (Atrovent HFA)
Gycopyrolate/formterol (Bevsepi)
