B2 Engine failure EP
- set low collective pitch
- monitor and control rpm
- establish airspeed ~65kts
- fuel flow control to shutdown
- depending on cause of failure
- re-light engine
- otherwise: close fuel shutoff, boost pumps off, generator, alternator, electrical master off if burning smell
B2 re-light procedure
- Boost pumps on
- generator on
- NG bellow 30%, normal start procedure.
B2 Governor failure - low side
- Establish auto at ~65kts
- advance fuel into emergency sector
- establish 70% NG
- increase collective to 350rpm if necessary
- increase fuel until rpm 380rpm
B2 Governor failure - high side
- NG, T4, NR increase
- do not reduce collective
- reduce fuel until rotor speed is center of green arc
- continue flight ( any adjustment to collective will need a fuel flow adjustment)
B2 Engine fire during start
- Close fuel shut off, rotor brake if needed
- booster pumps off
- crank for 10 seconds then battery off
- use nearby extinguisher to fight fire
B2 Fire in flight
- enter auto
- close fuel shut off
- booster pumps, generator, alternator off
- electrical master off if smell of burning
Smoke in cabin
- Heater off
- Electrical master off
- after smoke has cleared set all switches off
- reset battery to on
- reset master
- generator on check voltage
- circuits on one by one until malfunction is identified
B2 Tail rotor control failure
- 70kts level flight
- press hyd test to depressurize yaw load compensator, rest after 5 sec
- make a shallow approach with a left side slip
- perform run on landing (side slip will reduce as power is applied)
B2 Low oil pressure
- test warning light panel ENG P
- light does not illuminate
- if torque is too low: enter autorotation
- if torque is correct: land ASAP
- light does illuminate
- if torque is too low: land ASAP
- if torque is correct: land as soon as practical, monitor eng. P. Light
B2 NG indicator failure
- do not exceed torque
- keep T4 bellow:
- bellow 15° 730°
- above 15° 750°
Torque meter failure
- Do not allow NG to rise above chart limits
B2 T4 failure
-comply with NG limits
- do not start
Hyd light
- set a/s 40-60kts
- collective hyd switch off
- shallow approach to no hover landing or around 10kts
MGB. P. Warning light
- Reduce power
- Land ASAP
MGB. T. Warning light
-Test advisory panel for MGB. P.
- light does not illuminate, follow MGB. P. EP
- light does come on, land and check oil, if oil is normal fly to nearest base.
Bat. T. Warning light
- isolate battery
- land ASAP
B2 ENG. P. Light
- Reduce power
- Check pressure indicator:
- if pressure is low, read torque meter
- torque low, shut down engine
- torque normal, land immediately.
- if pressure is low, read torque meter
- if pressure and torque are correct, land as soon as possible.
Gen. Light
- test voltage
- check push button
- attempt reset
- shed least essential
- land as soon as practical
Batt. Light
- check push button
- keep watch of voltage
- continue flight, according to circumstances
Fuel light
- fuel less than 15.8 gallons(18 min)
- avoid large attitude changes
Door light
- reduce speed 120kts
-Land if possible or continue flight at lower speed
ENG. chip
- land as soon as possible
F Filt.
- reduce power
- if light goes out continue flight at reduced power
- if light remains on land asap
CHIP. TGB
- Continue flight, avoid prolonged hovering
CHIP. MGB
- reduce power
- Monitor MGB. P, MGB. T. Light
- if either light comes on follow appropriate EP
B2 FUEL P. Light
- check fuel pressure
- if pressure normal, one pump is faulty: continue flight
- if pressure zero, both pumps are faulty: continue flight bellow 5000’
B3 engine failure
- Establish auto ~65kts
- flight selector to off
- according to cause:
- relight engine
- Otherwise:
- fuel shut off: off
- generator, alternator, electrical master off(if smell of burning)
B3 re-light procedure
- Boost pump: on
- NG bellow 5%
- Gov warning lights out
- normal start
- boost pump off
B3 engine fire on start
- fuel shut off: off
- booster pumps: off
- crank for 10s
- use extinguisher to fight fire
B3 engine fire in flight
- enter auto
- fuel shut off valve: off
- Gen/alt: off
- electrical master off if smell of burning
B3 low oil pressure
- test advisory panel ENG P
- Light does not come on
- shut down engine and auto
- Light does come on
- land ASAP
B3 VEMD screen failure
- select failed screen off
B3 VEMD double display failure
- Select power setting required for level flight
- land without hovering
B3 NG indicator failure
- Maintain torque within limits
- do not exceed 810° T4
B3 Torquemeter failure
-Do not allow NG to exceed NG % on chart
B3 T4 indicator failure
- comply with NG limits
- turn off heating
- do not attempt to start
B3 gov failure
- check flight parameters
- keep NR in green
- unlock flight detent (twist grip)
- fly approach at 40kts, allow NR to droop to settle to ground upon reaching a hover
B3 ENG. P light
- Reduce power
- check oil pressure indicator:
- if pressure low, shut down and perform autorotation
- if pressure correct, land ASAP
B3 gov light (amber)
- governing function degraded
- avoid abrupt power changes
B3 fuel P light
- reduce power
- boost pump on
- land ASAP
