What are the nayakis?
Defined corresponding to each of their feelings
A nayaki who copes with pain by decorating herself for her husband. She attempts to create the right atmosphere to please him. She keeps looking out for her husbands arrival.
Vasakasanjika
A nayaka who suffers pain when being separated from her husband and is yearning for his return. She shows distress by trembling and gets exhausted
Virahatkandika
A nayaki whose husband is devoted to her and is faithful to her in every way possible.
Swandhinaprika
A nayaki who is constantly showing hasty behaviour to whilst arguing with her husband which has eventually resulted in their divorce.
Kalakanthirika
A nayaki who has discovered her husbands disloyalty and becomes jealous of the other woman.
Kandika
A nayaki who is disappointed that her husband has not come at the time he has promised
Vipralatha
A nayaki who is suffering the absence of her nayakan who has travelled to a far away land. She counts the days for his return
Proshitabirutha
A nayaki who goes out to meet her nayaka with passionate feelings
