Characteristics Of The Id
The impulsive and unconscious part of our personality. It demands immediate satisfaction (the pleasure principle). The main aim of the id is to gain pleasure and satisfaction at any cost.
Characteristics Of The Ego
The conscious, rational part of the mind. Its function is to work out realistic ways of balancing the demands of the id in a socially acceptable way (the reality principle).
Characteristics Of The Superego
Embodies the child’s sense of right and wrong as well as his or her ideal self. Seeks to perfect and civilise our behaviour. It is learned through identification with one’s parents and others.
Id Vs Superego
The id and superego are often in conflict and the ego has to act as a referee and resolve the conflicts.

Then adulthood behaviour will be characterised by destructiveness and immorality.
If The Ego Is Weakened And The Superego Is Dominant…
Then the id will be restricted to such an extent that the person will be deprived of even socially accepted pleasures.
