What are some examples of Traditional assessment?
Written tests such as, multiple choice, true false, matching and fill in the blank.
What are the Characteristics of a good test (6)?
Reliability, Validity, Usability, Objectivity, Comprehensiveness, Discrimination
What is reliability in reference to a good test?
Reliability is the degree to which test results are consistent with repeated measurements. The reliability of a test is judge by whether or not it gives consistent results to a particular individual or group.
What is validity in reference to a good test?
Validity is the extent to which a test measures what it is supposed to measure and it is the most important consideration in test evaluation.
What is usability in reference to a good test?
Usability refers to the functionality of a test. A usable test is easy to take, but doesn’t mean it is easy to pass. That means it is easy to read, and the directions for the test are clear and concise.
What is objectivity in reference to a good test?
Objectivity describes the way a test is scored. Essay questions are more difficult to be objective because it’s nearly impossible for an instructor to not have their own bias’ effect the grading of the test. Multiple choice test are easier to grade objectively.
What it Comprehensiveness in regards to a good test?
Comprehensiveness is the degree to which a test covers the subject matter. The evaluation should include a representative and comprehensive sampling of the course objectives.
What is discrimination in reference to a good test?
Discrimination is how a test between different students. The scores should be spread out over a wide range, with the best students earning the best grades.
What is Authentic Assessment?
Authentic Assessment is a type of assessment in which a student is asked to perform real world task and demonstrate a meaningful application of skills and competencies.
What are some types of Authentic Assessment?
Collaborative, Maneuver or Procedure “Grades,” & SRM “Grades.
What is Collaborative Assessment?
Collaborative Assessment is a form of student centered grading. It uses a series of open ended questions.

Replay, Reconstruct, Reflect, Redirect
