What are some AAC considerations?
- Has the child brought their AAC system with them
- Are all tasks accessible for them?
- Have you documented any adaptations in the recording forms and any educational reports?
- Have you allowed sufficient time to process instructions?
What does Opt-Out mean?
Whanau have the option to opt out from their child’s anonymous data being used for research purposes. This can be done in top r/h corner (3 dots), selecting edit student details and clicking “opt-out”.
What are the Phonological Awareness tasks?
- Phoneme identity (what word starts with the d sound)
- Phoneme blending (click on the picture you think I’m saying: r-i-ng)
- Letter sound recognition
- Phoneme segmentation

Non-word reading
What does NWS stand for?

How long do children have to make their response?
10 seconds
How many devices required to score Non Word Reading assessment?
two - one for the chil to see the target, and one for you to complete the scoring.
How many sets of words in the NWR task, and how many words within the set?
4 sets - 10 words per set
What is the proficiency score for NWR, or greater graphemes correct?
