What is a portrait?
A representation of a particular person
Self portrait
A portrait of the artist but the artist

Art that depicts the real authenticity of the subject
Idealisem
Focuses on an less flawed representation of the subject
Unity/ harmony
When two or more elements create a balanced artwork e.g wavy lines + organic lines
Pattern/repetition
Usung same or similar elements in one design. Creates calmness and relaxation
Emotions line can create
Thick- dramatic and bold,curved - gentle soft,
Broken - action, change, straight- hard, sharp
Emotions Direction can create
Horizontal - rest peace, vertical- strong, formal diagonal- action movement
Emotions shape can create
Triangular- angry, tense geometric-growth, flowing straight - solid still
Emotions for size
Small- powerless, not important large- powerful dominant
Colour emotions
Red- energy yellow - happiness blue- sadness tertiary- nature
Tone emotions
Light - airy, delicate, dark - depressing evil medium- calm peaceful
Texture emotions
Rough- aggressive, dangerous, desturbing
Smooth - calm, soothing
