Assessment 1 And 2 Flashcards
What’s Power?
- power is the rate of doing work, measured as the product of force and velocity.
- high powered outputs are required to rapidly accelerate, decelerate or achieve high levels of velocity.
What is Agility?
The skills and abilities needed to explosively change movement velocities or modes under control
What is speed?
The skills and abilities needed to achieve high movement velocities
What is balance?
The ability to control or stabilise the body when a person is standing still or moving
What is coordination?
The ability to use the senses together with body parts during movement
What is reaction time?
Reaction time is the ability to reach or respond quickly to what you hear, see or feel
What are the 4 general training principles?
Specificity, progressive overload, variation, progress
What is progressive overload?
Refers to training or stress or intensity that’s greater than the client is used to.
It must begin at a level appropriate to client and then progress gradually.
What 4 ways can we progressively overload?
FITT - frequency, intensity, time and type
Identify components of health related fitness
CV Endurance, muscular endurance, strength and flexibility
Identify skill related components of fitness
Power, agility, speed, coordination
Explain the role and importance of body composition
Body composition is the relative amounts of fat and fat free mass. It’s important as it helps the health of the body, being overweight leads to poor health
What is FITT
Frequency - how often
Intensity - how hard
Time - how long
Type - what training
What is specificity?
Specificity is training a client in a specific was to produce a targeted change or result. Training for a specific purpose.
What’s reversibility?
Any adaptations which take place during training will be reversed when you stop training. The level of loss is relevant to the level of time you have spent getting to your level of fitness.
