What is flexion?
Reducing the inner angle of the joint.
What is extension?
Increasing the angle of the joint
What is adduction?
Moving towards the body midline.
What is hyperextension?
Moving beyond the normal range of extension.
What is abduction?
Moving away from the body’s midline.
What is internal rotation?
Pivoting movement
What is external rotation?
Pivoting movement.
What is pronation?
Rotating the forearm so the palm is facing in/down
What is supination?
Rotating the forearm so the palm is facing out/up
What is plantarflexion/dorsiflexion?
Referring to movement of the foot.
What is circumduction?
Circular movement.
What is protraction/retraction?
Referring to the movement of scapula
What is eversion?
The forefoot moves away from the body, sole turning out.
What is inversion?
Forefoot moved towards the body, sole turning in.
What is lateral flexion?
Side bending the trunk
What is the term given for the head?
Cephalic
