Height and weight of patient
Height is measured from the sole of the foot to the crown of the head/weight is measured on a standing scale.

Pronounced lateral curvature of the spine
Assessment of the heart valves
Point of Maximal impulse (pmi)
5th intercostal space @ the left midclavicular line. Count 1min.
Use bell.
4 Heart valves
Aortic area, pulmonic area, tricuspid area, mitral area (apex)
Wheeze
Whistle, musical, high-pitched sound; air being forced thru narrowed or partially obstructed airway.
Gurgle/ low pitched wheeze
Rhonchi ; coarse, low pitched sonorous, rattling sound caused by secretions in larger air passages.
Crackles
Fine crack is high pitched or coarse is louder and low pitched nonmusical sound. Ex. Rubbing hair between fingers near ear
Stertor
Snoring sound from inability to cough up secretions from trachea or bronchi.
Stridor
Croaking or crowing sound when partial obstruction of upper air passage.
Pleural friction rub
Grating or scratchy sound similar to creaking shoe leather
Vesicular sounds
Soft, rustling sounds heard in the periphery of lung fields.
Auscultation
Listening with the aid of the stethoscope to sounds produced in the body
