Preplanned:
Submitted to AOC in time to make the first ATO distribution. Typically 24 hours prior to the ATO being published, SPINS dependent.
Immediate
\: Air support requirements outside of the ATO cycle (generally supported by on-call missions)
Preplanned requests are filled out and submitted up through Army channels (FSE, FECC, G/S-3 Air, etc, depending on local SOP)
Immediate requests are called into the ASOC via
the AFARN
Specific format: “Line X, Circle Y, Write Z”
Immediate Request
Initiated by Army echelons
Sent via Army channels to next higher echelon
Requests from the lower echelons are consolidated and then passed to the next higher echelon, ultimately to the Battlefield Coordination Detachment in the JAOC

- Mission data (MSNDAT).
- Mission Number.
- Callsign
- number and type of aircraft and is self-explanatory
- The mission type
- This is where the alert status
- The configuration codes are normally ordnance codes, in this case an SCL—AF 08.
- IFF codes
- Target area location/information (TGTLOC). The target location information is covered next; it answers the “when and where” questions of a given mission
- Mission start time
- The mission location
- This is a description of the location; e.g., a checkpoint, LZ, etc
- Area Coordinates. Self-explanatory. Can be defined as lat / long or MGRS
- Altitude or Flight Level.
- Mission request number.
- Airspace Command and Control issues-
- Amplifying information (AMPN / CMNTS).
